Elswood Rare Plants - About Us

Elswood Rare Plants is a family run rare plant and tree nursery based in the cold climate region of Crookwell NSW at 1,000 metres elevation in the Southern Tablelands. 

 Ben O'Brien is the passionate grower behind Elswood Rare Plants who spends the majority of his time out hunting seed or propagating new and unusual finds. An avid plant collector, Ben loves sharing his knowledge when it comes to rare, unusual, unique or simply hard to find plants (be sure to follow him on Facebook or Instagram where he shares some of his stranger finds!).

 Elswood Rare Plants was previously known as Cascades Nursery which is when we became the proud custodians of the business we purchased from Ian and Mandy McCorkindale where the business was originally started in Batlow NSW. 

The name change reflects Ben's alignment with his passion for rare plants and is excited to see Elswood Rare Plants grow and for his plants to be enjoyed by plant lovers. We hope you enjoy the pretty & colourful and the weird & wonderful as much as we do!
