A native of the high latitudes and altitudes of the northern hemisphere including in the Arctic, this low growing evergreen shrub will only grow to about 10cm tall, but will spread to form a dense mat. It flowers in late spring to early summer and is followed by white fluffy seedheads. Full sun to part shade, not surprisingly a slow grower, rarely available in Australia.
