A deciduous oak from eastern and central United States. It is commonly found growing floodplains and along streams and rivers. It is a medium growing tree to 20m and is distinguished from other oaks by it willow like leaves. A quick grower, it can handle a variety of soils and is quite drought tolerant once established.
